Hello lovely people! I hope you are doing good!
You are now listening to B. Sushmitha Achar speak about“Evolution is itself an assurance” which is about embracing yoursmallness and trusting the growth process in you. My talks are going to be simple, realistic and positive. These are my experiences in words from my heart to yours. If I can touch anyone of you which would add to your personal growth and improvement, I would consider that a reward and acknowledge that fulfillment within me.
After all, sharing is caring and there is a purpose behind everything I go through.
I would like to share my heart out on this very beautiful self- chosen topic which I feel is very much needed at this point in life. We all go through a lot of tricks and trials in life, what we fail to achieve is GROWING through what we GO through. It’sindeed a beautiful thought which says
“GROW through what you GO through”.
As this talk is very close to my heart, I will share with you the wisdom that I was blessed and was fortunate enough to receive and apply it.
You might now wonder, how this has influenced me and added to my growth and development. And being my avid listener, you have all the right to know who is sharing their life with you. Iam a “soon to be 25” year old girl from Mangaluru currently aResearch Scholar and an Assistant Professor in Chennai. I own a beautiful experience of self-publishing a book called “the soulified” across the globe which is available online. Through a small social cause initiative called “Project Vasudhaiava Kutumbakam” I try to touch lives in whichever way possible with no much fund requirement and heavy fame that solely runs on commitment, integrity and selfless contribution to thegrowing society with a motive “every smile is a blessing”
After all, for every RIGHT that we cherish, we have a RESPONSIBILITY to deliver.
In life, with or without our awareness we constantly seek a “one-stop” solution for all the problems or unbalances in life. Wewish if there had been ONE solution for all the misbalances inlife. And in this talk, I’ll reveal a few of the proven techniquesthat enhance life and speed up your growth. Not to forget I’llalso share with you that ONE solution for all the problems, in my talk. If you are a person who is seeking self-growth or going through something that does not add in appreciating life, then you are listening to absolutely the right thing.
Let me start with a very thought-provoking story which I heard during the Gurupoornima celebration at Ashram in the year 2015. This story has indeed inspired me in a lot of ways. One story that gives you many affirmative lessons. Listening to thisstory itself is a blessing. So here it goes...
There was a kingdom that had a very different ruling technique. Anybody could be the king provided he is bid a farewell to a dense forest where the return is impossible. The ruling tenure would be 5 years of super royal life attached with all possible benefits that anyone could long for. This is a story of two kings who made all difference. The first king wanted to enjoy the royal life and so he was only concerned about his wellbeing. He enjoyed his 5 years of royal life and now it was the time for a final and scary farewell to the dense forest. His fears and fragile looks on his face spoke more about the cruel and tough sustenance in the forest. It is like surrendering ourselves to death. And then comes the second king whose intent is to create an impact and also not to be deprived of the facilities attached. He completed his tenure and it was his time for the so-called scariest farewell.
And this time for a change, the look on his face was not scary or fearful at all! Surprisingly he was the first-ever king in the history to be having a calm yet resting face at his farewell. Astonished by this, a villager asked the king about his fearless attitude for which the king replied,
“I have given my duties the dignity it deserves”.
This one statement had all the answers.
With all the given luxuries and facilities, the second king had used them to develop the village and most importantly the dense forest. It was now a developed place suitable for people and animals to live safely. As the culture insisted, the king to spend the rest of his life in that forest which is now a developed habitat shall bring no fear at all. This is the power of thoughts and actions. Two kings two mindsets. It would not be fair to say who
was good or bad. Both were real in their terms. One did it for himself and the other found it by doing good to others. Many of us have our fashion for finding happiness. Few do it directly and the others indirectly. Few takeaways from this story are:
1. It’s okay to enjoy facilities in the limit, if you can drawmore values from it which can benefit others too, then the facilities are on the right hands.
2. Finding fulfillment in the work we do is one of the secrets to a happy life.
3. Creating an impact on the work we do is a gratitude gift to the opportunity that is given to us.
4. All that is given to us are either a lesson or a blessing. It is left to us of what we make out of it and it is completely in our control do so.
Was it not beautiful? I am pretty sure you will have more lessons of your own from this story. After all, we all have those regular thought clashes in our mind which we categorize as “the good thoughts” and the “bad thoughts”. We often wonder what would win, but the truth is,the one which we feed the most.
It could be good or bad.Surprising isn’t it?
Now I would like to share a few inspiring, impactful and most importantly the practical based practices that we need the most to rework on ourselves to be a better person.
Before I begin, I request you to accept and embrace what we are right now, because acknowledgment has its power. We might not be able to transform completely into a different person all of a sudden, but definitely can be a better version of ourselves which will surprise you with a total elegant personality that might be better than what you could ever imagine.
My first thought would be
1. Passion over Perfection: I am sure most of them can relate to this. We have all been growing up to the principle of“perfection” which says a lot of things that we are obliged or restricted to. But honestly to me, “perfection” never exists. I’drather try and fail than to simply follow what’s not practiced atall! At times this has helped me unleash my potential to the fullest and surprisingly by attempting I could either succeed or find an alternative to render it in the best possible way. Believe me when I say, “If nobody is perfect then why are we trying to be that ‘nobody’ rather than trying and being someone that’s completely us and ourselves?”
2. The second beautiful thought is Giving up on fears of being wrong: this might sound a little controversial but I am sure a very few people have revealed the actual story behind this. Let me do this for you. For a moment close your eyes and connect to your mind. There is a little voice in your mind thattakes complete control of you at times. That’s “the inner voice” I am talking about.

Accept or not most of our life decisions are made by that one little voice now opens your eyes and sees what it fails in is to foresee the consequences. The initial step is to silence it by not giving it the power to decide for us. Mind mastery starts here. And once you win your mind, you have nothing else to lose. Knowing ourselves is the key secret of everything that the most accomplished people have ever achieved and there is one simple thing that allows you to do so without any trouble. And this could be a bonus for all the upcoming thoughts and tips to enhance life and develop self completely leading to a fulfilled life. And that pro tip is giving up on fears of being wrong. I always tell my students that it is okay to commit mistakes when you try. Attempting is itself a reward. And I encourage them to make as many mistakes as possible during their trials to only correct and not repeat in thefuture.
My teacher used to say, “fully understood problem is half solved” and that has inspired me in all dimensions of my life. To provide a complete diagnosis of an issue one must completely understand what needs attention and what does not. By choosing the right problem to solve you not only be efficient but also correct the right ones. This is one of the techniques in Design thinking. And it is observed that when you allow mistakes you tend to be more realistic and involved than before resulting in more productivity, passion, and trust in yourself. I feel this generation needs more hand holding on that factor to produce an immense output.
3. The third beautiful thought is we become what we think of: yes! You heard that right. Everything happens twice, once in mind and the other in reality. So what we think is very important. How we see ourselves is more important than how
others do. There is a millennial saying “YOLO” meaning youonly live once. But for once if we see the other way around will we realize WE ONLY DIE ONCE AND LIVE ALL THE TIME. Sorry if I have been direct with the word, the intention was not to be harsh. Do not get carried away by thought- provoking quotes that are not on self-improvement or adds to our development. Choose your read carefully. That speaks more of what kind of person you are and the kind of person you are going to be soon.
Of all the things that I have shared might be a little not so easy in the first phase but trust me, you will get through this. For the kind of person you are becoming, it is worth every bit of it. Embrace your failures, embrace your smallness, and embrace everything that makes you think is less. Accept and rework on that. Give it a thought, if you are created this way, there must be a reason or a purpose, find it. Take an initial step for yourself and rest life will take care.
As I said, Evolution in itself is an Assurance. The way you grow and evolve in Life is in itself an Assurance that All is well. Rest assured that everything is on the right track to your destination. It is a continuous process that does not stop anywhere, anytime. Every time you learn something and you unlearn other things. Everything is for the good that life has destined for you. Evolution comes with the passage of time and you should have the patience to live through the process. Just up your senses and believe in what is happening around you. Rest in Assurance thus, that life will always teach you.
Believe and succeed. Invest in yourself. If you fail that is okay. I am glad you tried. Start over again. Do not forget,
YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE, BUT A WHOLE LIFE TO WIN.
((((happy hugs))))
